Managing Your Data Assets: A Data Inventory Roadmap

When:  Feb 25, 2025 from 05:30 PM to 07:30 PM (PT)
Associated with  Los Angeles Metro Chapter

Learn the first steps in getting control of your data assets.  The data held by your company is probably its most valuable, yet intangible, asset.  Many organizations have a fragmented understanding of what their data assets are, where they are, how good they, and how they are used.  As a result, data can be lost or duplicated unknowingly.  This presentation explores ways to create a formal inventory of the data files and databases which are essential for running the company.  This allows managers to get a handle on data that was previously unmanaged and unprotected.

Speaker: Michael Scofield has spent most of his career in data asset management.  He is a researcher and lecturer on numerous topics and has given over 400 presentations to professional audiences in the U.S., Australia, Canada and the U.K. focusing on data quality, data visualization, and data management.
